Originally crafted in 1968 by Barry Needham as therapeutic work during his battle with muscular dystrophy, these exquisite paperweights have been meticulously handmade by Hafod Grange for over five decades.
Teasel (Dipsacus Fullonum) is recognized by its spiny stems and leaves, topped with clusters of purple, dark pink, or lavender flowers. After blooming, the dried flower heads remain, containing small seeds (4–6 millimeters) that mature by mid-autumn. Historically, Fullers extensively used teasels for raising wool fibers, favoring them over metal hooks.
Renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, Hafod Grange was honored with the Prince of Wales Shield in 1975, personally presented by HRH Prince Charles, recognizing their dedication to preserving floral beauty in resin.
